At the “Amet Hamayim Regba” Visitor Center, explore the captivating story of water from ancient times to the present day.<\/p>\n
Located in the Moshav of Regba, our unique initiative brings to life the history and excitement surrounding water.
\nAt the heart of the site flows the Ottoman aqueduct, an impressive structure built in 1814 under the rule of Suleiman Pasha, the governor of Acre. This aqueduct, consisting of magnificent arches, connected the springs of Kabri in the north to the city of Acre, delivering water used for agriculture, drinking, operating flour mills, hammams, fountains, and more. It remained in use until 1949.<\/p>\n
Our visitor center features various exhibits showcasing the world of water: pipes from the National Water Carrier \u2013 Israel\u2019s first major project \u2013 designed to transport water from the Sea of Galilee to the southern regions, well-drilling machines, water-pumping devices, and more.
