“Treasures in the Walls” displays the Galilean folklore of the nations that once lived there, by revealing their journeys from east to west. The museum was created by two collectors: Dan Heartman and Michael Luria. The two of them, helped by many donators, made the dream come true. The artifacts tells the story of lifestyles of different settlers from different nations who lived in the Galilee during the last 150 years.
The Museum has two wings: one that recreate a 19th century marketplace and one the hold the collections and collectors. The market tells the story of the merchants and craftsmen of the time. The goldsmiths worked with copper, silver and gold; tanners, belt makers and shoemakers used the cattle skins and the welders built metal gates for the houses. These are some of the craftsmen you can get to know with while walking the market.
