House in the Heart, the Jewish House is a unique phenomenon: all over the world you can find places where young backpackers gather around in order to celebrate Jewish holidays, to perform Kabalat Shabat and to feel a part of the Jewish people. They are looking for warmth and family like the type you find only in our special country.
Tali and Rafael Singer, young parents for three, operate such a place in Metula. At House in the Heart (Bait BaLev) you'll be able to stretch your legs with a cup of tea and a piece of cake, stop the flod, have a chat and be around warm people who truly believes and fulfill the Golden Rule of Love Thy Neighbor. It is important to note that even though the house has a Jewish character it is not its only purpose. Another goal is to return to the feeling of brotherhood that was deserted throughout the modern lifestyle as well as to show the warm face of Jewish religion and its wonderful hospitality.
House in the Heart has a weekly schedule full of lectures, workshops, musical performances and spiritual gatherings during weekdays and weekends. The house is open to everyone – soldiers, youngsters, adults, locals or travelers.
Tali tells they've opened House in the Heart because they always were warm hosts and people of people and in their last place of living there were few people and a very homogenous society. The will to know more people and to host made them establish the House in the Heart and open their house to the crowd.
We invite you to stop for a little while, step inside the House in the Heart and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake or maybe a hot soup during the wintertime. Start a conversation, read a book and show interest.
