Makom BaLev

So it goes like this… There's a goat pen, and if there's a goat pen there's dairy and a home-made cheese shop nearby (Edna's cheese), breads and boutique wine. And there must a small intimate coffee place (coffee pen) in the woods, which also have delicious ice cream. For fun there are small jeeps to tour the outstanding Galilee views, and for those who look for horse riding – it's also on the menu, with or without guiding and is in addition to workshops for groups and organizations… Are you still breathing?

And all that is operated by two people (plus a little help). Meet Edna and Eyal of "Makom BaLev", Abirim. "How do you manage?" I ask Eyal and he answers: "With allot of trust in the amazing visitors of Makom BaLev".

This trust expressed by trusting the people at the cheese and coffee shops to pay, and so is the change, with the jeeps the visitors are getting a short brief and driving away on their own by sign trails and only at the horse riding Eyal follows the group to the picnic and come back after the break. On their own – and yes, trust the visitor who gets happily the responsibility and enjoying the nature and the great food.

Eyal started as a man of education and during the years was the secretary-general of Bnei HaMoshavim youth organization and guided training staffs at different IDF bases. Nowadays Eyal is specializing in media and ODT workshops that he gives using the horses to companies and organizations, and to the therapy-riding students that comes to Makom BaLev. And Edna? Producing the cheese, taking care of the guests and the goats and taking care of their Galiliean family…

So if you are on your way to the Western Galilee, stop by at Makom BaLev, Abirim, sit down, relax, enjoy a good meal and have fun in horse/jeep trip around the area. You can share with us also your pictures and experiences.
