Discover the enchanting world of water and uncover the unique history of the Western Galilee at the “Amet Hamayim Regba” Visitor Center!

At the “Amet Hamayim Regba” Visitor Center, explore the captivating story of water from ancient times to the present day.

Located in the Moshav of Regba, our unique initiative brings to life the history and excitement surrounding water.
At the heart of the site flows the Ottoman aqueduct, an impressive structure built in 1814 under the rule of Suleiman Pasha, the governor of Acre. This aqueduct, consisting of magnificent arches, connected the springs of Kabri in the north to the city of Acre, delivering water used for agriculture, drinking, operating flour mills, hammams, fountains, and more. It remained in use until 1949.

Our visitor center features various exhibits showcasing the world of water: pipes from the National Water Carrier – Israel’s first major project – designed to transport water from the Sea of Galilee to the southern regions, well-drilling machines, water-pumping devices, and more.
A Unique and Enriching Experience:
• Start of the Visit: Walk through pipes from the National Water Carrier.
• Magnificent Relief: View a map of Israel illustrating water sources and their utilization.
• Ancient Methods: Grind wheat into flour, build arches like those in the aqueduct, and use traditional water-pumping techniques.
• Agricultural Display: Discover agricultural tools from the past century.
• Walk Through the Aqueduct: Stroll inside the flowing aqueduct and enjoy refreshing droplets of water.

The activity lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes professional and tailored guidance for each group.

Main Audience: Domestic and international tourists, organized groups, and families.
